Level International/EU 7. Description of the methods/ approach and/or theories used Outschool offers live online classes for kids ages 3-18. Classes meet in small groups with learners and teachers from all over the world. Teachers and organizations offer over 100,000 topics from one-time interest-based classes to semester long core courses. 8. Purpose/Aim The aim is to provide an easy-to-use, safe and secure platform to hundreds of thousands of students all over the world with a flexibility to determine how many classes you will offer, the topics, the pricing and the schedule. It is created as a chance to inspire learners and their families. 9. Evaluation (results) of its effectiveness After the learner has completed a class in full or withdrawn, parents have up to 30 days after the class ends to leave a public review for that class and teacher. They are prompted to do so several times by email and within their Outschool account. For an Ongoing class, they can leave feedback after one week of completing class, and they are prompted to review it after three completed weeks. 10. Overview of the lessons learned which are relevant to the project This project started in 2016 as an idea based on homeschooling that is applied in US. Students can participate in the lessons that interest them at their own pace by having either one-to-one classes or by enrolling to classes with more children of their age. During the pandemic, this tool was used by millions of thousands of students. Its uniqueness lies in that fact that online classes are offered synchronously and courses such as Fortnight Math and Dungeons and Dragons creative writing attract students’ attention.
